Grating diffraction

The following activities was held by grade 12 students

SPECIFIC OBJECTIVES

To understand how a diffraction grating works; measure or determine the wavelength of some light

EQUIPMENT

Diffraction grating, light source, high-voltage power supply and light filter

Tools arrangement

First,measure the wavelength of light from ray box,then the wavelength of other light by putting a filter before the grating. In order of filter are yellow,green,blue and red.
Second,measure the length of d,y and L in the first order ( n = 1 ).
Third,put the data into the equation for grating diffraction,then you will get the wavelength.
